Now I will say that I have pictures, I just need to upload them. My camera went into hiding for a few days and I found it.
Not sure if I have mentioned it but Tortie has a multiple food allergies and a disease called Eosinophilic Esophagitis or EE. We have known about it for the last 4 years, this requires him to limit his foods as his bodies white blood cells attack what they perceive as virus' and he gets sick either by throwing up, stomach pain, or loose stools. He also does not absorb the nutrients from the foods that he is allergic to or has reactions to. His is also drinking a special Formula called Neocate One+, it is Amino Acid based so
So last Wednesday we (Daddy, Tortie, Buttefly Girl and I) went to UIC to visit his ped GI, Dr. Kagalwalla who is wonderful, and do an Endoscopic procedure. In order to see if Tortie is doing better, he needs to have an Endoscopy done and biopsies taken. In reality this should be done at least every 6 - 8 weeks as a new food is introduced or taken away. It has been almost a year and a half. So Dr. K asked me what my gut said and I told him, he is no better if not worse.
So they gave Tortie a little bit of Versed, which makes you loopy and fall asleep and he was hilarious, he would say "mommy, A bluh bluh bluh bluh" He was asleep before he went into the procedure room which was good. Now Butterfly girl was very concerned about her big brother and kept asking "Tortie sleeping? Tortie night, night sleeping?" to which we answered yes. She asked about him the whole time he was gone and was very upset she couldn't go to recovery with him.
So when his procedure was Done, Dr. K came out and talked to us. Visually he did look worse, but at least his eosphagus wasn't narrowing. We are currently waiting for the biopsies to come back, but it doesn't look good. We have to meet with Dr. K in another 3 - 5 weeks to determine what we need to do to try and get him healthy. He is such a trooper about all of this and I couldn't be prouder!
Onto the other kids, Dolphie is going to be the death of me. He is my limit pusher and let's see if we can drive mom insane boy. Now he has ADHD, but I only allow so much for that as I have ADHD too, bad thing he is me, with all the annoying parts of his father thrown into the mix. Poor child!
Butterfly is adorable, she has been saying her name but misses some letters in it. And she has fallen in LOVE with Christmas trees. Everytime we see one she points it out, it is adorable.
Ok I guess this one is long enough and I need to get back to work.
Life. It is what it is.
